Quality Season refers to the period in a region when the highest quality tea leaves are harvested throughout the year. This term is primarily used in relation to Ceylon (Sri Lanka).
Sri Lanka has diverse climates across the island, leading to different Quality Seasons for various regions; for example, Uva has its peak from July to September, while Dimbula and Nuwara Eliya have theirs from January to March. During the dry monsoon season, tea leaves with pronounced aromas are produced.
The refreshing menthol-like aroma that appears in Uva during its peak season is known as 'Uva Flavor,' which contributes to Uva's reputation as a renowned tea.
