Smoked tea
Tea smoked over pine and other woods. Lapsang Souchong is the best-known example.
Smoked tea is dried over smoke from wood such as pine, which leaves a distinctive smoky aroma. Lapsang Souchong from Fujian, China is the classic.
The intensity varies widely between products, from strikingly medicinal to barely there. It also appears in blends such as Russian Caravan.
